Feeling ripped off

Warning: Angry Rant.... Re: Client Support direct and so called work flex time: From perk to punishment. So I'm Feeling like a total fool. Those free trials where you need a credit card to receive free any free product are all SCAMS. Yes Client Support Network and the like I am talking about you. They bury what fee you have to pay if you don't cancel withing their time period under pages of we are not liable its. In the smallest possible font. In a small boring box on a website with lots of flash to make it hard to keeps your eyes focused on the words. It should be illegal that they make it so hard to read. And then you get the product, which is probably the equivalent of sugar water, that does not work. So you phone to cancel it. Only to be told sure. No problem. We won't charge your account. And then it shows up. The Fee. And you phone to get it removed. Only what you don't know was they count from the day you place that order. Not when they ship it. Or get payment, or when you get it. And the first customer service idiot didn't tell me about the full money back guarantee when I phone to cancel because it didn't work. Shame on you company for not saying. "Oh. Since you are not satisfied with this product you are entitled to your money back guarantee. " You Grinch-y money thrives. And it takes me 5 minutes of talking to get just a fraction reimbursed. And a nothing else we can do, So very sorry, but even of we messed up its your fault and to late. Sorry DOES NOT help. Saying its all my fault then saying sorry that the company that is probably not even paying you a living wage stole my money and there is nothing I can do. Where there ever companies that had rules that would take into account that people are not exact machines? We can be late, often days weeks or months. Traffic can make you very late, we talk to people on out breaks even if we love our job. Few people take into account how long it takes to walk somewhere. Flex time at work used to mean if you had to rearrange you scedule to take a kid to a doctors appointment you could work your weekly hours before or after to make them up. The new definition by the UPEI is work hours flexible to the employers needs, not the employee. That means if they need you to work nights, you now have to work nights. What was once a hiring perk is now a prison forced on people not seen as conforming. Or maybe they just don't like them. Anyways. There is good in the world. There is way to much bad. But we just have to keep pur heads high, smiles on, and depression firmly in check. Or rage of your not numb to this jaded world. Days like this are Tom Lehrer - We Will All Go Together When We Go - music days. "You will all go directly to your respective Valhallas Go directly, do not pass Go, do not collect two hundred dollahs" Wish for today... World destroyed by meteors. And back to the carefully constructed cheerfill delusions that we all have to make it though the day.

TOMOSON

So I have joined Tomoson, a blogger product review site. It is esy to set up an account, and free. They also have some review opertunities available world wide, and some for any level of following of twitter or facebook.

This is good for me as I am just starting to blog. Other such match product to blogger sites often have a 3 months minumum age for a blog. So Tomoson is a welcome sart for me.

I have already been contacted,I get to review a book. I love Books.

Here's to keeping my fingers crossed for more free products to reviews in the future. Not that that will stop me:

I just got my hands on a Kodak Zx5 playsport. This will be for use on our japan trip.... But it will need some testing before we go to make sure the product doesn't have any problems, It says waterproof, So I wonder about our hot tub. Have to check it the seals are good. Otherwise, from using it so far.... I most definatly like.

Kickstarter

Kickstarter is a website that gives you the opertunity to invest in an idea, prototype, art project, and final product. And you decide where your money goes.

Sometimes you get a prototype, or the fist batch made, or your name in a book, or some other souvenire that reminds you that you helped someones dream become reality.

For as little as a dollar you can support an idea. other gifts come at slightly higher prices, depending on a product. For me, I invsted in a product that is now available at major retail stores. Only mine has a dIfferent logo, and I got mine 6 months earlier than the stores. A tablet stand (that is very comfortable on my lap as I type here) that swivels, and one extra to be a gift.

And as the project was funded, and we followed our inventors as they delt with makeing the molds and polymers for the different parts, them making them again as problems arrose. Of shipping details, and last minute testing issues that can only be found by small children. It becoms more than just investing, its a story that only few will know.

And now when I look at them in the store, made by a larger company that in the end bought the idea and made more, I smile. I know the story behind this gadget, the ups and downs, the late nights and problems, the comunity that gatherred behind this project, like they do for many projects at kickstarter.

Every month there is a new newsletter, with a few choice funding options. And I marvel at what people make. Not some rocket-scientist, but our neighbours.

Check them out. Marvel at innovation.
